The makers of CROSSRAY say the infrared burners are more efficient and cook faster than traditional burners due to the fact that the Infrared heat penetrates your food, cooking it from the inside out, whereas an open flame just heats the air around it – ultimately drying out your food.. So your food is ready sooner and you use less gas. As the burners are not directly beneath the cooking surface, fat and juices drain away, reducing smoke and virtually eliminating the flare ups that char your food, leaving the inside uncooked.

In a word... WOW! Easy to follow assembly instructions had the unit installed in one hour. The infra-red burners heat up fast, reaching 450 degrees centigrade in 5 mins, and provide a very even spread of heat across the burner. The four burners can be very accurately adjusted in each of the four zones. Baptised this bad boy with 4 tomahawk steaks which were cooked to perfection. Stainless steel components discoloured on the first use as expected, but the unit is easy to clean, especially with the burners conveniently placed to the side of the burner. Overall very impressed with this BBQ.
The best BBQ I have owned. Great build and looks great. Takes 1 or two goes to get the cooking right as it is a little different to a traditional BBQ, but gives 10 times better results. Gets super hot up-to 350degrees for restaurant quality sear on steaks that remain tender and juicy and homemade pizza's that my kids love over the major pizza shops only take a couple of minutes. Would highly recommend just make sure you buy some long handle tongs as well.
